Earthbounds, djinns, and sucubuses! Oh my!

Every house clearing is its own story. Some are straightforward — stagnant energy, residual imprints, a space that just needs a good spiritual scrub. And then there are the ones that stay with you. This was one of those.
We were called in to clear a home that had accumulated quite a layered spiritual population — some ready to move on, some not so benign, and some that were an absolute delight to discover. Here's what we found, and what we did.
🕯️ The Earthbound Soul: The Wife Who Stayed
The first presence we encountered was an earthbound soul — the wife of the home's previous owner. She hadn't left. Not because she was trapped, not because she was angry, but because she simply wasn't ready. She was reliving memories in the space she had loved in life, moving through the rooms like a woman replaying her favorite film. Confirmed by the current home owner saying she had found old photo albums when she had moved in.
When we made contact, she was clear and communicative. She knew exactly what she was doing. She told us she had been holding on to the warmth of those memories — the life she had built in that house — but that she was, in her own words, ready to cross. She just needed someone to open the door for her.
We held space, honored her presence, and facilitated her crossing with love and gratitude. She went peacefully. The energy in the home shifted immediately.
🌀 The Djinn: Born from Trauma
This one required more careful work. The home also housed a Djinn — but not one that had wandered in from elsewhere. This entity had been created. Formed from the unprocessed PTSD of the home's last male owner, a Vietnam War veteran whose trauma had lived in the walls of that house as surely as it had lived in him.
Trauma, when left unaddressed and deeply felt, can take on a life of its own. This Djinn was a manifestation of that pain — a psychic construct born of decades of suffering, fear, and unresolved grief. It was not malicious by nature, but it was powerful and disruptive.
We approached this clearing with deep respect for the veteran's experience. The work involved acknowledging the source of the entity's creation, compassionately dissolving the energetic construct, and sealing the space so nothing similar could re-form. This is why emotional healing and spiritual hygiene go hand in hand.
🐾 The Succubus: Latched onto the Dog
Perhaps the most unexpected finding of the clearing was a succubus — and it wasn't attached to a person. It had latched onto one of the dogs, keena, in the home.
The backstory: the woman's significant other had been removed from the relationship and the home. When that energetic bond was severed abruptly, it left an opening — and this entity slipped in, attaching itself to the dog who had been closest to that person. Animals are incredibly sensitive to energy, and they can absolutely carry attachments just as humans can.
The dog had been showing signs of distress, lethargy, and behavioral changes. Once we identified and removed the attachment, the shift in the animal was noticeable. Clearing work isn't just for people — our animal companions need it too.
🧚 The Fairy Village: Three Generations of Light
Now for the part of this clearing that made our hearts sing.
Amid all of the heavy work, the home also held three fairy presences — The homeowner recognized them immediately: a grandmother, a mother, and a daughter. Three generations of fairy energy, familiar and beloved.
Rather than clearing these benevolent beings, we honored them. The homeowner had already created a fairy village for them — a dedicated, intentional space where these three could continue to dwell, tend to the land, and bring their gentle magic to the home. We blessed the space, reinforced the welcome, and left them exactly where they belonged.
Not everything in a haunted house is there to harm. Sometimes the most sacred work is knowing what to release and what to protect.
✨ Final Thoughts
This clearing was a reminder of how complex and layered a single space can be. In one home, we encountered grief, trauma, heartbreak, love, lineage, and light — all coexisting. Our work is never one-size-fits-all. It requires discernment, compassion, and a deep respect for every presence we encounter, regardless of what it is.
